Our Mission
The primary mission of the Oregon Nurse Staffing Collaborative is to create a learning environment in which nurses at all levels of practice in acute care can learn about and describe their application of the Oregon Nurse Staffing Law in a collaborative manner. The key principle in the ONSC work is to maintain patient safety through appropriate nurse staffing.
The vision of the ONSC is to partner with stakeholders on full implementation, decision making through collaboration, funding and regulation of nurse staffing in Oregon’s acute care facilities.
The current scope of the ONSC is acute care health care facilities in the state of Oregon. This means that nurses at the direct care level, nurses who manage, administer (administrative nurses) and those who regulate the law are the community of interest.
